- Challah – Chabad of Huntsville (also sold at Greene Street Farmer’s market during the summer). Also Publix, Whole Foods, Fresh Market
- Kosher Wine – Great Spirits / Windmill, Mary’s Grocery, Uncorked, Fresh Market, and Church St Wine Shoppe are all known to carry multiple brands of Kosher wine. Other retailers can procure on request. Legally, wine (Kosher or otherwise) cannot currently be shipped to Alabama residents from out-of-state except through ABC stores.
- Kosher Meat and Poultry
- Kosher chicken and turkey can often be found at Trader Joe’s, Sprouts, Whole Foods, and Publix (seasonally). Some cuts of Glatt kosher beef are available at Trader Joes.
- Bulk Glatt kosher bulk beef and poultry can be bought through Chabad of Huntsville several times a year. Items can also be ordered directly through Griller’s Pride in Atlanta.
- General Kosher Food – Publix, Kroger, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Sprouts, Fresh Market, Costco, SuperTarget, Oakwood Farms, and other local grocery stores all carry an assortment of products including matzah, macaroons, gefilte fish, Manischewitz wine, juices, gelt, frozen blintzes, soups, and some Israeli snacks in addition to various other certified Kosher products placed throughout the stores. Store locations that have closer proximity to downtown Huntsville usually carry a greater selection of these products.
- Local store managers tend to be responsive to product requests if enough people make them. Talk to managers and write on comment cards if you have a desire to see certain items locally.
- The nearest “Kosher Costco”s are in Atlanta (Brookhaven and Dunwoody locations), and carry a large variety of certified Kosher meat, dairy, and other products. There are a number of additional small Kosher grocery stores in Atlanta.
